Trey Gowdy served as the Representative for South Carolina’s 4th Congressional District from 2011 to 2019. During his tenure in Congress, he earned a national reputation as one of the most effective congressional questioners, a skill grounded in his extensive background as a federal prosecutor and state-elected Circuit Solicitor, where he tried scores of cases involving capital crimes, narcotics trafficking, kidnapping, and weapons violations.
In the House, Trey was at the center of nearly every major congressional investigation of the era, serving as Chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee and as Chairman of the Select Committee investigating the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attacks.
